I sewed one to the arm of my new jean jacket, and then proceeded to run around my house pointing and yelling "PewPew" at my dog. I'm not an adult.
Im kind of in love with him... Believe it or not, he's my first rabbit! I made him to use up the rest of this year, hence why his ear has been nibbled off by other zombies! The veins coming out of his leg and ear look amazing, Im glad I switched from embroidery floss to yarn. Also, I think I've brought my mom to the dark side. When I made him, she said "He needs some stitches in his side, not the guts spilling out like the other guys" Thanks Mom!DearBitsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07693161219972909410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480711349633195891.post-72464349160263826542011-02-20T18:14:00.000-08:002011-02-20T18:15:29.553-08:00Crochet Zombies!

Meet Bunny the bicycle! Ain't she...umm... ready for a make-over? Well, she got one this summer! Here are old photos of her, before I restored and painted her. Tomorrow, she will be ready for assembly! My plan is to ride to school every so often (about 3 miles there).
If anyone out there is even reading this, I need some help! Bunny the bicycle is a mystery bike! I got her from a friend of a friend. I figured out she's a Montgomery Ward Hawthorne from at the earliest 1970. Does anyone have any more information for me?

On a different note, I purchased paper for the boxes I mentioned yesterday! 1 will have road maps, 1 will have black and gray stripes, and my favorite will have an Alice in Wonderland theme!DearBitsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07693161219972909410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480711349633195891.post-14762182803993984482010-08-28T14:43:00.000-07:002010-08-28T14:43:32.507-07:00Actual Blogger
I've decided to make this into an offical blog, not just a dumping ground for my patterns. I'll use it to preview what I'm working on for my etsy shop (DearBitsy), tell tales of my thrifting in Richmond, VA, and my last year in high school.

So, The first photo is a brand new item in my shop! A hand-painted jewelry box! I painted it to have the appearance of stitched leather, without the leather! The second photo is a box I'm saving for the minute, until I can find a big enough box! Its another jewelry box I have, fully lined and hand painted. I'm having a hard time finding a box for it though! It's 14x9x4 inches!

I also found a miracle in the Habitat for Humanities thrift store! 3 boxes packaged together, for 2 dollars! They are a bit beat up and are missing handles, but it was too good to pass up! The remind me of old luggage!

The brown box is available on my etsy shop for 16 dollars! http://www.etsy.com/shop/dearbitsyDearBitsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07693161219972909410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480711349633195891.post-5079545021815983672010-02-19T19:22:00.001-08:002010-02-19T19:38:47.829-08:00American Girl BeanieI found a hat I made for a doll years ago, but forgot about! My mom decided it would be perfect for an American Girl doll, so we gave it to this little girl I babysit since she just bought a second American Girl doll. She loves it... and requested a second hat in purple. Of course I had no idea how I made the first hat, so I decided to wing it and write down the pattern so I never have to go through this again.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 286px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOcVgO4W5LVgQol1ZBr7R4FVuRJlqKxwQNVbVUel-LiO_fvPxhSGt3GBku6hi5q3YnxgMZyWtI_x_RpZFeAX8QOAVwmliMZv_4YelMyrHQIrFTrL55PmeCxDtR7GNtAE-SSB69LGL7Oaue/s320/4372087874_e9e7ddecac_o%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5440164972114827874" />

I used a H hook and worsted weight yarn.

1. 6 dc into magic circle
2. ch 2 then slip stitch to join
3. ch2 , 2 dc in each stitch, 3 dc in ch2 spot of the previous round (the last bit), ch1, slip to join
4. ch2 *2dc, 1dc repeat from * around - slip to join
5. ch2, *2dc, dc 1 in next 2 stitches repeat from * around - slip to join
6. ch2 *2 dc, 1 dc in next 3 stitches repeat from * around - slip to join
7. ch2 *2dc, 1 dc in next 4 stitches repeat from * around - slip to join
8. ch2, dc around, slip to join
9. ch2, dc around, slip to join
10. tie off and enjoy!DearBitsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07693161219972909410noreply@blogger.com17tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4480711349633195891.post-57387084477045188922010-02-03T16:54:00.000-08:002010-02-03T17:09:17.897-08:00Bee or Bird Wings!<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 184px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAJHCEIDbUOBz-uvjhAvaeMOezNEN63MQvwdxD5PpNsqB3umBcCdoawHJhyphenhyphenNt3D3Wbkyb-rlxnTmTLYiu6qh1zH3G9wMRR5PNM1JDObxNFXOAoso9wzKrQmzsfw2wrCILpjTmMFLJHtARC/s320/4329212082_d2a58cea67_o%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434189074223785906" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 275px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJi9y9Ig70HesnZxx-wxUQnmtbBMz1EKCWD1N5V7KjSCHf7uHx6DvKWV3uGd25DHsnVsnkGc_zBYdukMnI-SVFb_USDOg-KD8uqbqmcdFga90K3SBqnCbgFAhjeO5T58Mnuu20rnktuhH1/s320/4328504741_a960d3ecdc_o%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5434188907024497874" />

I needed these wings for Lion Brands stacking ring game for the bumblebee. I used Red Heart Eco-ways yarn in Peacock, but any worsted weight will work! I used an H hook, but gauge isnt entirly important for this pattern.

1: Ch 32 (or the amount to go semiloosely around right above your knuckles)
2: Ch 1, hdc around, join
3: ch1, hdc around, decrease to join (skip the last stitch and join)
4,5,6,7: hdc around, join
8: Ch enough to go loosely around your thumb (mine is 11), join back in next avalible stitch with hdc, continue to hdc around (Note! Now you will be working in the round, or not joined, just continuing on a loop)
9: hdc around so there is now 1 hdc line on the thumb part
10: hdc around, 1 decrease at "corner" before thumb part and 1 decrease at corner after thumb part (opional decrease in between on the thumb)
11: repeat 10
12: repeat 10
13: repeat 10
14: repeat 10 (the corners will be getting harder to identify, just estimate)
15: hdc around, decrease 1 in the middle of the thumb part
16: repeat 15
17: repeat 15
18-?: continue to hdc around until you reach the length you wantDearBitsyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07693161219972909410noreply@blogger.com30
